Feedback about the 'Archived' series, from a relatively 'new' member Helen Carter, Foundation staff at Communications:
"Hi Adriana, I wanted to let you know how much I have enjoyed your 'archive' pieces on Findhorn faces from the past in recent weeks in the "Rainbow Bridge"; I've found them absolutely fascinating! thanks and love from xx Helen"

As the Trustees and Management of the Findhorn Foundation recognise"'to inspire is to lead" I ask you, while you are reading this: "By what or by whom are YOU inspired?". It seems important to see where we get our inspiration from, to stay inspired and to acknowledge and be grateful for that place or situation.
'Inspired' is a small project which started around the 46th Birthday of the Findhorn Foundation Community in November 2008. And has been going since. Read and look here at some of the surprising, touching and inspiring responses !

Teamwork inspires me. As a Living-Education-department, we continuously have new team members and guests. It inspires me to see them being empowered (by themselves and by us) to take risks and to begin to take on tasks and responsibilities; to explore leadership, being lead, being of service. We can be teachers and students to each other. We work strongly with the phrase “We dare to live each moment the highest purpose of this place”
I am inspired by the qualities and energies in our sanctuaries, and by our collective exploration into spirit. I'm also inspired by the unity and diversity of our community, and Cluny is always an inspiration.... every time I visit!

For me inspiration comes from the wonder of the light here. Even on the dullest days, we get this quality of light that feeds us and is inspirational. I am part of the Landscape Angel meditation group and I am aware that the over-lighting Devas are working their miracles. They’re always present, even if we don’t tune into them. From them I learned that their sacred presence is ever-present.

I am inspired to play a role in the evolution of this community, with others. I love the balance inherent in “Listener Convener”, and look forward to finding the harmony of passive listening and actively bringing things together. I am also inspired by the many different kinds of light here; the morning grey, the pink and orange sunsets, the bright summer sunlight on the beach, and so much more

The first thing I think of is the assembly of wonderful people, dedicated to live a life in line by, what I think are “God’s principles”; dedicated to uphold each others’s dignity and treating each other with utmost care
I am inspired by the energy that flows in & out of this community. Coming back, I am inspired by the love that I sense in everything here, in our being and in our doing. It is unique. There is no such place as far away

I am inspired by the Island of Erraid and by our youth, who really enjoyed to the fullest while respecting the Erraid community life. I am inspired by the welcoming abundance; the generous energy of the Erraid community, despite only being with 3 people to run it! They embraced the crazy, wild teenager energy with an open heart. That impressed and inspired me. Nov 08

I am inspired - completely and utterly - by the work of Dekyi Lee-Oldershaw, an ex-member, who was here in Findhorn over the weekend. Formerly a Buddhist nun, she now travels the world; encouraging me (people) to transform whatever I consider to be a problem and go on with my life. Full stop inspiring! Nov 08
I am inspired by the depth of the silence in the morning groups meditations, which is the same as I felt 40 years ago when I first came here. Nov 08

Not so much inspired, but with deep admiration for Richard Coates, because he is such a helpful and honest person and he thinks about other people.
I am most inspired by people's genuine friendship and openness. In travelling around I meet lots of people being friendly, but here I have the feeling people really care about you, as if we are really brothers and sisters on the planet. Dec 08
I am inspired by the number of guests that come in here continuously, feeling that similar holding, magnetic energy that has always been here; that gives everyone what they need and then they go away with the X-factor. I have traveled a lot, but did not find that in many places in the world.

I am very inspired by how we deal with releasing & letting go of people, in all ways of ‘leaving’. I am inspired by the role-models, in their generosity and giving their best. Like our long-term community member doctor Cornelia (a MD/GP); how magnificently she has taken care and has prepared the body for the transition, when people die.

I am inspired by the connection with the garden. I know the challenge to be stressed by all the amount of work there is to do in the garden, which I do to myself. Once this week I was near the flowers at the Guest Lodge; I smelled the autumnal Asters, mmmhhh and all of a sudden all the tension fell away from me. For me this was a beautiful, inspiring moment.
I am inspired by the sharing in the final Eco-village Training EDE, to which I was honoured to be invited as a support person. Hearing poems & songs from different cultures. One of those beautiful things of this community. It brings together people from lots of different cultures.
(staff Visitors Centre)
I am inspired by our community member architect Graham Meltzer; by his friendship; his cleverness in building eco-building; in general by his wisdom and integrity in the community. And by his love for rugby; we watched it on TV together.
I am inspired by the fact that I receive what I need, all in the perfect moment. After being away for 2 months, I needed help at my coming back, and it all appeared. Sometimes we just need trust. And ask of course. I feel a lot of gratitude as God provides what I need: All help came together.
I am inspired by the Autumn colours. Sounds a bit ordinary maybe, but they just fill me with joy; they expand my gratitude for this beautiful world. Nov 08
I am inspired by that, amongst all the rich intense fullness of life here, there is always a space, a time for a laugh, a look-into-each-other’s-eyes; a hug or chat while we stop for a moment amongst all the hurry. Nov 08
